NHK Enterprises

A grand traverse of the Northern Alps in summer, from peak to peak, including Tateyama, Yakushidake, Mt. Yarigatake, and the Gendarme of the Hotaka Range.
An epic adventure filled with laughter and tears as they challenge one of Japan's most difficult routes.

This is an adventurous journey where Junko Tabei, the first woman to conquer Mt. Everest, and Katsuyasu Uchida, an NHK announcer with little climbing experience, challenge the difficult routes of the Northern Alps.
They will traverse 60 kilometers from Tateyama to Okunodaira, known as Japan's last hidden paradise, then to Mt. Yarigatake, and finally to the Gendarme of the Hotaka Range, over three weeks. Experience an unparalleled sense of awe and accomplishment that cannot be felt in everyday life.
