Vintage Henriot Quimper France Hand-Painted Breton Shallow Bowl
N/A
Long ago in a little village in Brittany, a quiet traveler stopped beside a meadow filled with wildflowers. He rested his walking stick, listened to the wind, and promised the garden he would return each spring with a new story. The bowl has kept watch ever since, holding a tiny piece of that French countryside in its painted blooms. Authentic Henriot Quimper faience pottery shallow bowl, hand-painted in France. It features a traditional Breton figure holding a walking stick, surrounded by stylized flowers and leafy branches in cobalt blue, yellow, green, and rust. The plate has a scalloped edge with a bold blue border and the characteristic creamy glazed finish associated with Quimper pottery. The underside is hand-marked “Henriot Quimper France.” The tiny holes on the back were likely added for hanging. There is visible crazing, glaze wear, small edge flakes, and age-related discoloration. I do not see an obvious major crack in the photos, but the condition should be shown closely. Similar Henriot Quimper plates use the same scalloped shape, Breton figure, and floral decoration.
