Lucite Mirrored Compact Case Vtg Mavco Rhinestone Hand-painted Floral Tortoise

~ Here is a beautifully hand painted mirrored lucite compact with inset rhinestones made by Mavco ~   * Condition: Very good overall vintage condition.    Cover Design -  is hand painted in a multicolored flower and petal motif with 6 arcs of 7 rhinestones each. Rhinestones are clear with a bright sparkle.  Inside Mirror -  shows age with some cloudiness and a small spot at the bottom of the mirror where the silver leaf is detached, underside.  Inside Compact -  is fairly clean, but has no original puff or insert.  Hinge / Closure Clasp - The compact has the distinctive Mavco 3 knuckle hinge, which functions well. The 2 tab closure clasp works as it should and is strong to stay closed when shut.  Outer Case - The tortoise shell lucite case shows some surface scuffs, but they are really only noticeable when compact is tipped in the light.    This compact was made in the mid 1940's. It has the signature Mavco stamped flower petal design on the bottom. Mavco was a company owned by Malcolm A Vendig and wife Elenor.
