【For Pickup Only by Yuchan】SUZUKI NO.92 Double Bass (1977)

For sale is a SUZUKI contrabass (No. 92 4/4 Anno 1977).

According to the Suzuki Violin Manufacturing Co., Ltd. website, the No. 92 model was produced from 1973 to 2017. In 1977, the instrument was priced at 160,000 yen. While the instrument has aged, with numerous dents and scratches as shown in the attached photos (photos 4-8), there are no peeling or buzzing issues. Some repairs have been made at a workshop (photo 9), and the bridge has been replaced with a used one (photo 3) to correct the string height. The sound post has also been adjusted and its position corrected.

The neck has been polished at a workshop to remove the varnish for easier playing (photo 13).

Although this instrument was produced over a long period and may not be as pristine as a recently made one, the strings have been changed to Belcanto (used), resulting in a lively tone that belies its age.

According to the specifications in an old catalog (photo 17):
*   Top: Spruce
* Back & Sides: Maple Plywood
*   Neck: Beech
*   Fingerboard: Ebony
*   Tailpiece: Ebonite
*   Machine Heads: Brass
*   Endpin: Hardwood

The included soft case (used) is from another domestic contrabass. There are no tears or damage, and it is fully functional.

This instrument is considered suitable for home practice (and of course, for stage performances) for junior high, high school, and university students who are starting to play the contrabass in brass bands, string orchestras, or orchestras.
