This bow is not highly recommended for those seeking a light bow or a light playing feel. However, it might be suitable for players whose current bow feels too soft and leads to unfocused playing, or for those whose instruments feel overpowering for their bows. It's also a bow that leans towards players who enjoy a more nuanced playing style with strong shading, rather than a brighter sound.
You can feel a slight weight in the hand, which makes it easier to avoid applying excessive pressure to the strings by allowing the weight of your arm to rest on the bow.
While it shares some characteristics with the bow I previously listed, this bow has more flexibility and a greater range of playability in its handling. The other bow could be described as having a slightly more rigid feel. It's difficult to put into words without causing misunderstanding, but I believe chewy elasticity rather than stiffness is a close approximation for both.
It also boasts good camber, and combined with its ideal balance, it contributes to ease of bow movement. The weight at the frog is achieved using only silk thread and lizard skin.
The bow was rehaired last week with Canadian horsehair for this listing.
There are no signs of repair for breaks or significant warping, and no issues that would significantly affect its playability or lifespan.
The mother-of-pearl inlay on the button has melted away.
The lines visible on the tip are not cracks; it is not broken.
Returns are accepted, so please consider this bow if you are looking for a change of pace with a different type of bow for your violin playing.
