[Rare Vintage Chinese Ink Stick, Manufactured in 1955]
This Chinese antique ink stick, which I have carefully stored, is being offered due to collection consolidation.
The back of the box is inscribed with Made in 1955, making this a highly valuable item from the early period of the People's Republic of China (1950s).
■ Product Features
Shape: A substantial octagonal shape.
Design: The surface features a delicate relief carving of a radish (Zuisai), while the back is inscribed with a flowing cursive Chinese poem, resulting in a finish that is also exceptionally beautiful as a work of art.
Inscription: The side bears the mark Qianlong Nian Zhi (Made in the Qianlong Period). This is an 仿古墨 (imitation antique ink) made using a Qing Dynasty mold, manufactured with the high craftsmanship of that era.
Scent: It has a scent reminiscent of incense or traditional Chinese medicine.
Condition: Fine crazing (hairline cracks) due to age is visible, but there are no major chips. Considering its age, it is in good condition.
