This bow was acquired due to its dignified and captivating presence and character.
The elegant head shape, the winding, the frog, the button, and the area around the grip are all particularly intriguing.

While the premise is that a bow's purpose is to produce sound and be played, perhaps it's a bit of an exaggeration to say it evokes the message a violin is a craft to be appreciated by ear, as suggested by Menuhin. The joy of seeing (appreciating), the inspiration received from holding it, and the placebo effect are undeniable.
I feel that the visual impression of this bow is more directly connected to its handling and playability.

In December of last year, the hair was replaced (Canadian horsehair) and the tip was exchanged (ox bone).

I feel that the balance and camber are very well adjusted.
The frog height is designed to be lower, bringing the distance between the stick and the strings closer, resulting in efficient handling and a gripping feel. This, in turn, leads to powerful, unhindered sound production and musical expression.

Based on the inscription at the grip, it is presumed to have been manufactured in the 20th century by JTL, a major French violin bow firm.

As an antique, it bears the marks of time. While it may not possess the freshness of a new bow, you will undoubtedly feel something that more than compensates for this.

Minor warp in the stick,
The outer ring of the Parisian eye has lost its mother-of-pearl inlay on both sides,
A small warp at the end of the button,
Slight looseness at the junction of the frog and stick (it does not wobble when the hair is tensioned), etc.
These do not significantly affect playing or the bow's lifespan, and I personally view them favorably as part of the bow's history. However, please be aware of them for your reference.

This bow may be particularly recommended for those who:
- Feel their current bow is too soft.
- Have a powerful instrument (e.g., thick top plate) and feel they are not able to fully bring out its sound.
While it is perhaps a bit too robust for my own instrument (which may also be related to my personal preference for softer bows), I am reluctantly parting with it due to necessity, despite its captivating character.

I would be grateful for your consideration.
