This is a vintage U.S. NAVY duffel bag from the 1930s-40s.
Dating from around the 1930s-40s, this is a special piece featuring a luxurious design with various stencils, including Popeye, mermaids, and anchors, applied to a very sturdy, thick duck canvas cotton material.
The dimensions when laid flat are: height 58cm, width 44cm, and bottom diameter 29cm.
While there are signs of overall use, such as dirt and damage to the holes for the drawstring, there is no damage that hinders its use. It is extremely durable and robust, so we believe it can be used for a long time.
