■ Key Features

MIC GAIN:
Provides settings in 6 dB steps within a gain range of 0 to 66 dB.

TRIM:
Performs ±6 dB gain fine-tuning for the mic gain setting or line input.

SILK / TEXTURE:
A variable control to add harmonic content and create a captivating sound without compromising the overall mix. The Silk Red on the 511 saturates and enhances the mid and high frequencies, bringing richness and thickness to your tracks.

High Pass Filter / HPF:
The high-pass filter is a useful function at any point in the signal chain, and plays an important role in microphone preamplifiers. It is convenient for cutting unwanted low frequencies during microphone recording, especially effective against rumble noise from buildings, air conditioning motor noise, and hum. The 511's HPF has a cutoff frequency adjustable from 20 to 250 Hz at 12 dB/oct, allowing for effective cutting of unwanted noise.

Phantom Power:
Used to supply 48V power to studio condenser microphones from the 500 series rack's power supply.

Polarity / Ø:
Inverts the polarity of the source by 180°.

LEVEL METER:
An 8-segment LED meter displays the output level (pre Silk). The signal level is indicated by three colors: green, yellow, and red. When the 511 clips at the output stage, the top red LED will remain lit for a while, indicating signal overload.
