Last Thanksgiving, community support helped Good Works Food Shelf provide dinner baskets to 167 local families. This year, we are preparing Thanksgiving food for up to 200 families.
Register for a Thanksgiving basket
Thanksgiving baskets are free. No donation is required to register or receive one.
Online registration is available November 7 through 15. You may also register in person at Good Works Food Shelf on Friday, October 30; Friday, November 6; or Friday, November 13, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Online registration opens November 7.

If you register online, bring your online confirmation. Thanksgiving basket distribution is Wednesday, November 18, 2026, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Good Works Food Shelf, 697 13th Avenue NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413.
Donate food
Our Thanksgiving food drive runs October 12 through November 13. Please bring nonperishable food donations to Good Works Food Shelf at 697 13th Avenue NE. Drop-off is available Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Fridays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

- green beans
- corn
- gravy packets
- cornbread mix
- stuffing
- cream of mushroom soup
- cranberry sauce
- macaroni and cheese
- cake mix
Help fund Thanksgiving food
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help provide Thanksgiving food for up to 200 families. Financial gifts help purchase turkeys, supply side items not received through the food drive, and cover costs directly connected to serving families through Good Works Food Shelf.
